Call of Duty is one of the biggest franchises in the gaming industry, with the latest game, Modern Warfare 2 selling like crazy. Now VG247 is reporting that the next Call of Duty title in the franchise could be set during the Vietnam War.
According to the Web site, an LA casting call for something Call of Duty-related describes a character Frank Barnes, who is part of an elite Vietnam unit. This has led to speculation that the next COD title will be based in Vietnam. The casting call is apparently for motion capture and voice over work for four major characters from the game, Frank Barnes, Joseph Lewis, Jason Hudson and Kristina Ivanova, the details of which seem to have come from a US casting site.
Of course, at this point nothing is totally confirmed and this must be taken as a rumour. And it is not clear whether the game will revolve around these four characters. All Activision has said is that the title is coming this year, and it isn’t expected to be bigger than Modern Warfare 2.
