Red Dead Redemption to have Cinema Ad Campaign

Red Dead Redemption is the sandbox-style action-adventure game which is to follow 2004’s Red Dead Revolver. According to MCV, Red Dead Redemption will be the studio’s “most ambitious game to date”, and will get a huge ad campaign which includes promotions in UK cinemas. The publisher will spend big to ensure Red Dead Redemption becomes the studio’s biggest game of the year.

The game will apparently have a big pre-launch TV push and will be the company’s first cinema ad campaign. Speaking to the Web site, Rockstar GM Neil Stephen said, “This is our most ambitious game to date and our biggest UK release this year.”

“We are spending a larger proportion of our TV budget pre-launch than we ever have before to ensure Red Dead Redemption is established as a massive triple-A title,” he added.

With the cinema ad campaign, Rockstar is targeting audiences of Robin Hood, Iron Man 2 and Prince of Persia. The game is expected to help the series become the studio’s next blockbuster gaming franchise. Rockstar also said that the campaign will have some kind of game content download via Bluetooth from cinema foyers.
