Unlocking the doors of the new Castlevania chapter, the Lords of Shadow demo offered a glimpse from the game to PlayStation 3 owners. Those who have been waiting for this installment to unfold can now head straight to retail stores as Konami has unleashed Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Set in an open world surrounded by snowy mountains and gothic castles from Southern Europe, the title transports gamers to the Middle Ages in this tale of vampire slayers. Voiced by Robert Carlyle, Gabriel Belmont is responsible for guarding the innocent against evil forces. On a mission to chip together the pieces of a relic dubbed ”˜The God Mask’, players will be guided by Gabriel’s wife whose soul has been trapped by adversaries.

Battling it out against demonic creatures, gamers will face more than 45 rivals through 50 uniquely designed 3D stages. With over 40 combo attacks, they can fend off enemies even with secondary weapons including daggers and holy water. These can be united with light and dark magic for launching terrifying assaults on dark forces. Featuring the voice talents of Natasha McElhone and Jason Isaacs, the title also boasts of several puzzles which require players to discover their opponents’ flaws as well as search objects to enter inaccessible regions.
