November to bring Deluge Add-on pack for Crackdown 2

Accounting from the in depth review that we published earlier, Crackdown 2 turned out to be a seemingly average gameplay experience and for us, a slight contrast with its predecessor. Supposedly hoping to reach its desired appeal value, a game add-on comprising of new co-op and competitive content, Deluge is set to be released this November. The Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst is also reported to introduce an integration between Windows Phone 7 and Xbox 360.

Crackdown 2 Deluge

The new update is set to deliver a new co-op arcade mode termed as ‘Deluge’, allowing upto four players to test their mettle against incrementally troublesome armies of ‘denizens from Pacific City’. A Capture the Orb mode, which appears to be resembling the Capture the Flag mode but in a Crackdown manner, is also incorporated into the gameplay enabling players to race and score while pitting against buildings and escaping rockets. Vehicles, weapons and a few elements more have also been given a refinement with the add-on.

Obtainable in trial and premium versions, the trial version contains complete sixteen-player Capture the Orb mode along with a single player and a sample version of the ‘Deluge’ co-op mode. Whereas the premium version comprises of all Deluge content such as the complete Deluge co-op mode, avatar awards, the sixteen-player Capture the Orb mode and new achievements. The pack is reported to allow XBLA members to connect from the new Windows Phone 7 game, Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst, for updating their achievements and activities.

A ‘home defense’ game utilizing Bing Maps is claimed to revitalize the traditional tower defense gameplay by allowing players to opt for their home territory anywhere around the real world and protect it against an ambush of Cell Terrorists and Freaks. After constructing lethal Agency bases around players’ neighborhood shops, favorite geographical features and such, achievements in Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst will unlock rewards in Deluge mode which call for support like extra Peacekeepers, exclusive power-ups and rocket-equipped Agency Helicopters. Similarly, attainments in Deluge will be able to unlock new weapon upgrades in Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst.

‘Deluge’ is reported to be released on November 16, 2010 with the premium version of the add-on downloadable for 560 Microsoft Points and the trial version accessible for free from the XBLA Marketplace.
