Lost Planet is the third person shooter from Capcom which is set on an icy landscape of another planet which humans attempt to colonize. In February Capcom confirmed the existence of a sequel to the game, releasing a trailer and an interview with Kenji Oguro, director on the project.
Now Siliconera reports that Capcom has updated its Japanese Lost Planet page with release date information for Lost Planet 2. The game is expected to arrive in Japan in winter. The page only talks about an Xbox 360 version though, and this could mean a timed exclusive, since we know that the game is also coming to the PS3 and Windows PC platforms.
The sequel is set on the same planet, a little after the first and will move focus from the icy environments to thick, lush jungles. Players are back battling the Akrid creatures, who have returned stronger and in bigger numbers.
