EndWar for Nintendo DS and Sony PSP Announced by Ubisoft

Back in April 2007, we had reported that Ubisoft had revealed a new tactical game called as EndWar. The game was expected to hit the current generation home consoles. Now Ubisoft has sent word that EndWar will be released for the Nintendo DS as well as Sony PSP.

Tom Clancy’s EndWar will see gamers take control of an elite military force not only on the ground but also in the air and on the seas, all this during World War III. They can command American, European or Russian forces as there are more than thirty battle scenarios. Gamers can even fight against a friend in two-player battles in any of the hundred ready-to-play scenarios. They can even fight it out in their own custom-created missions.

Here is a list of features of Tom Clancy’s EndWar for the handhelds:

Turn-based strategy with a twist: Simultaneous move and attack phases make the experience as intense and authentic as real-time strategy.

Three campaigns, one for each faction, with increasingly challenging battle scenarios and objectives.

Over 20 units and vehicles per faction including ground, air and naval units. Units gain experience in combat, dramatically improving their combat performance.

Two-player versus multiplayer mode, including additional missions specifically designed for multiplayer battles.

Easy-to-pick-up mission editor: Create and share your custom battlefields and battle scenarios to play solo or against another player.

Full stylus control on Nintendo DS.

EndWar is being developed by Funatics Software and will be optimized for the handheld platforms. The game is expected to be shipped to retailers in North America on November 4, 2008. Besides the Nintendo DS and PSP, EndWar has been developed for the PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms.
