BioShock has won a lot of Game of the Year awards and it is known that a BioShock 2 is on the way. A Czech video gaming website had reported that BioShock 2 would be a prequel and not a sequel that everyone else was assuming. A source from 2K had indicated to the website that BioShock 2 was in pre-production and the game could come out by the summer of 2009.
However, gaming website VideoGamer.com got in touch with 2K Games about it. A representative from 2K games said that they have nothing to announce at all. This means that they are neither denying the rumor nor confirming it, which could substantiate that a new BioShock game could be coming out soon. The prequel supposedly showcases the fall of Rapture.
There have been many speculations surrounding BioShock 2. A few days ago, there were rumors about some internal problems that occurred during the development of BioShock, which prompted some developers to come up with a new studio to develop BioShock 2 free from head Ken Levine. Anyway, that doesn’t seem to be the case and I am sure many gamers are looking forward to BioShock 2 and hoping that it would feature co-op gameplay.
