Independent studio Chair Entertainment has sent word that they are developing a new underwater third person side scrolling action game for the Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA). Undertow is expected to have a 15-level single-player and cooperative campaign as well as a multiplayer component supporting up to 16 players.
Donald Mustard, Creative Director said, “We’ve really enjoyed designing Undertow for Xbox LIVE Arcade because it’s given us the freedom to generate a pure gaming experience focused on fun, addictive game play. Whether a player is looking for hours of intense multiplayer or they have just 10 minutes for the ultimate gaming experience, we’re certain Undertow will be as exhilarating to play as it has been for us to create.”
Undertow will use Epic Game Unreal Engine 3 and is the second confirmed 16-player game for the XBLA after Wing Commander Arena.
