What’s common between GTA IV and Mercs 2? Well there are some of the high-profile titles that were supposed to come out in 2007, but got delayed till 2008. Now joining that list is the forthcoming shooter, Army of Two from Electronic Arts (EA). They have confirmed that the action game will indeed come out in 2008.
Many gamers who were eagerly waiting for the game would be disappointed with the news but EA does have a nice excuse as to why Army of Two was delayed. They want to polish the game as they feel that it has a potential to become a lasting EA franchise. Analysts also agree with it and Michael Pachter from Wedbush Morgan said that Army of Two is important for EA. He says, “It is an important game for them if they hope to establish it as a franchise. It shouldn’t have much of an impact, but the market always seems to assume the worst about the company.”
Army of Two is in development since the last two years. It is being developed at EA’s Montreal studio and was supposed to release in November 2007. The third person shooter game is eagerly awaited as it has a co-op-focused story. It seems that we will have to wait till 2008 to enjoy Army of Two.
