Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Announced by Ubisoft

When released last year, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas was an instant hit and helped bringing in the cash for Ubisoft. Now, the French gaming giant has sent word that they are busy developing the sequel to the shooter. Aptly named, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2, it is the sixth title in the hugely popular Rainbow Six franchise that will complete ten years in 2008.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will include new gameplay features as well as more eye-catching visuals. Gamers can look forward to an intense solo campaign, which uses new tactical possibilities in various locations around Sin City. Also, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is expected to have ground breaking co-op and adversarial modes that will offer extraordinary interaction between the solo and multiplayer modes.

He explains, “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas took the gaming world by storm in 2006 thanks to its technological advances and gameplay innovations. We are certain that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will remain a pioneer in the highly competitive first person shooter genre, bringing more of what Rainbow Six fans love to the table.”

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is being developed at Ubisoft Montreal. They are the same people who have worked on the earlier game. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is slated to release in March 2008 on next-gen consoles as well as on the PC platform. Ubisoft will be looking forward to release the title soon as the franchise has sold 16 million units worldwide until now.
