Last week, we had reported that Half Life 2 Episode Two would be longer. However, it seems Portal will not meet the same fate. Valve level designer Kim Swift has stated in an interview to Eurogamer.net that Portal would be just four hours long.
Swift said, “Currently the game (Portal) runs about four hours. In the game, we take you very step by step in terms of being able to use your portals.”
Portal is expected to release with Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Team Fortress 2 this winter on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The game has been long awaited by Half Life fans. But the shorter version was expected as the Valve game designers would be busy developing a longer version of Half Life 2 Episode Two.
