It is very rare that a studio boss might spill the beans about a new game. But this has happened as the head of the Eidos’ new Montreal Studio has indicated that they might come out with a new Deus Ex game.
Patrick Melchior has stated to a French-language television station that the first thing he wishes to do is to revive the action role-playing game series, Deus Ex. He did not add anything more to that. Deus Ex was first released in June 2000 for the PC. After that, Eidos published Deus Ex Invisible War for the PC and the Xbox. The game received a lot of rave reviews, but did not sell as Eidos has expected it would.
Eidos has refused to comment on the situation. However, it seems unlikely that they are not going to come out with a next-gen version of Deus Ex. But let’s hope they bring it on the PC as well as the consoles. Keep watching this space for more details.
