Developers Insomniac Games have come out with the new screenshots of their forthcoming sci-fi based first-person shooter video game, Resistance: Fall of Man. The game will release on PS3.
Resistance: Fall of Man is set in Great Britain in 1951, but in a parallel history where a species of mysterious origin named the Chimera have infested Earth and World War II never happened in reality. The plot revolves around the desperate attempt of the US and Britain to fight the Chimera across a war-torn British landscape. Resistance: Fall of Man has horrible creatures possessing scientifically superior weapons, zombie-like beings and giant spider-like monsters.
The humans seem to be depending on more conservative weapons, consisting of a pump-action shotgun, an automatic rifle that bear a resemblances to an AK-47 with a scope connected, and a rifle with an underslung grenade launcher which appears to be a peculiar mixture of the M1 Garand and modern attack rifles such as the FN SCAR and H&K G36. But there will be some ultramodern weapons such as the Bullseye, which lets you mark an enemy so that all shots will home in on it.
The game is published by SCE and will release in November 2006.
