Bernd Diemer, who is the senior game designer of Crysis, has stated to Eurogamer that the first person shooter will not have Co-op multiplayer and zero gravity modes. He said that the modding community would have to take care of that.
He cited that time, or rather the lack of it, as the reason Crytek developers cannot include the Co-op multiplayer and zero gravity modes. However, Diemer has said that the AI will be much evolved in the game and the aliens will be large and will have a better thinking power, which will make the game a little hard. Bernd Diemer also added that the leaked footage of Crysis was of the older version and he was angry about it as gamers would get a wrong impression about the game.
Crysis in one of the most anticipated PC games and it is expected to release in late 2007. Of course, one can argue, that normally PC shooters do not have a co-op, but nowadays the multiplayer mode is demanded by gamers and with the rise of broadband, even in the developing world, a multiplayer mode is a must in shooter games.
