NBA 2K13 Coming to Multiple Platforms as well as the Wii U

The next installment for 2K Sports’ basketball game franchise has been announced in the form of NBA 2K13 which is to hit a number of platforms including Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U. The game will be released in October and is up for pre-order now with a special bonus for all those who reserve its PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Fans who pre-order the game for these platforms will be proffered a new downloadable NBA All-Star content pack presented by Sprite. This add-on will enable gamers to hold their own NBA All-Star Game at Houston which is the site of the actual 2013 NBA All-Star Game. Three different events, namely the Foot Locker Three Point Shootout, BBVA Rising Stars Challenge and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest will also be available to be staged.

“The NBA All-Star package is our way saying ‘thank you’ to fans for their ongoing love of the NBA 2K series. This content provides a ton of depth and value to our fans, and it’s just the beginning of a lot of big news about NBA 2K13,” claimed Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports.

The player rosters of both the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge and the 2013 NBA All-Star Game will be occupied by 2012 All-Stars, while dynamic updates will be doled out once the new participants are announced. The game will be developed by Visual Concepts which has been creating 2K’s NBA games since the beginning of the franchise.

NBA 2K13 will be launched in North America on October 2, 2012, whereas its international release is planned for October 5. Initially, it will only be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP and Wii, as the Wii U version will be shipped later during the holiday season.
