While the PS3 gets its share of games, PC and XBLA will be receiving exclusive content as well, including the recently announced The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing title. This action-RPG game is said to be filled with demonic battles through a gothic-noir universe.
According to the developers, the title takes place during the 19th century in Europe. Filled with monsters, magic and weird technology, it follows protagonist Van Helsing as he sets on a mission to defeat ‘a new scourge’ that’s terrorizing the Eastern European city of Borgovia. Developed by NeocoreGames, it will be based on the classic novel ‘Dracul’ written by Bram Stoker.
“Being located in Eastern Europe and having experience developing RPGs, Van Helsing is a natural fit for us; it’s a project where we can demonstrate our expertise in both domains and create something novel that RPG fans can appreciate,” commented Viktor Juhász, lead writer at NeocoreGames. “We’ve always enjoyed crafting games from legendary tales, but with our own twist, and Van Helsing provides us the perfect game world to experiment with.”
The story appears to start off with Van Helsing being called upon for assistance by former supernatural foes in the land of Borgovia. The legendary vampire slayer is accompanied by a host of characters, a gameplay that’s filled with ‘wry humor and snappy dialogue’ and a dark as well as gothic art style.
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing release date is slated for sometime during late Q4 of 2012. Although price details aren’t disclosed as yet, the game will be available for the Xbox 360 and PC.
