No Final Fantasy VII Remake for now: Nomura

Final Fantasy VII is noted to be a role-playing game formulated by Square Enix and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Back in 1997, the seventh installment in the acclaimed Final Fantasy series hit the Sony PlayStation, then the PC and most recently the PlayStation Network.

No FFVII Remake

A rumor about a PS3 remake of the game was doing its rounds since 2005. According to Andriasang, Square Enix designer Tetsuya Nomura revealed that there will be no Final Fantasy VII remake at least for the time being.

Crushing the hopes of Final Fantasy fans, this piece of revelation was apparently espied in Famitsu magazine where the Kingdom Hearts designer dwelt upon the FFVII’s character Cloud Strife. Square Enix illustrator Tetsuya Nomura said, “Fans are looking forward to an oft rumored remake of FFVII, but I don’t believe this will happen for the time being.”

But before completely letting down Cloud Strife fans, he further added, “However, it’s possible that he will appear in other titles as a guest character.” Cloud has been part of the Kingdom Hearts franchise in the past.

So players looking forward to a remake of Final Fantasy VII for the PS3 may just have to wait a little while longer or abandon the hope altogether.
