Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Delayed till 2008, Says EA

EA Mythic has stated that their much-awaited MMOG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) has been delayed until 2008. The game was originally scheduled to release in the fourth quarter of 2007. There is no big reason given for the delay, but they are working on the game’s “racial pairing” issues.

This is what the EA Mythic statement read:

It’s been an interesting year for us at EA Mythic, a year filled with new challenges, new opportunities and of course, a year filled with WAR. We have made the decision to move our ship date for the US and Europe to the first quarter of 2008. (Release dates for Asia will be announced later.) Since our acquisition by EA, we have been afforded many wonderful development opportunities and we plan to take full advantage of everything that is available. This includes taking several additional months to make the best MMORPG possible.

EA Mythic’s Mark Jacobs has stated that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will be the next great MMORPG and they will release it in 2008. EA is also planning to release the game in major regions of Asia, but that will only happen after it is launched in North America and Europe.
