Imperium Romanum II is a military, political and economic game simulating the numerous wars which beset the Roman Empire, from its foundation in the chaos of the civil wars of the first century B.C. to its destruction some 600 years later.
About Imperium Romanum: Set in the time-honored Roman Empire, players will marvel at the incredible attention to details, as they construct fortifications, towers, gates and bridges, and pay for them with the new currency called denarii’s which has been implemented into the game for a challenging, enjoyable, and authentic quest to rule the World. The aim of Imperium Romanum is to take the role of a Roman governor, gather resources, organize and command your armies and build a prosperous and imperious settlement. There will be a number of game modes, but the main campaign will be History mode, which sees you following a timeline based on real events in Roman history. Throughout the game there will be a number of factors that may affect your progress like crime in the province and natural disasters like floods and draughts.
“Imperium Romanum” boasts a variety of new features to enhance the gameplay and complete the historical strategy gaming experience. These include a sophisticated graphics engine, a mass of authentic historical buildings such as the world famous Circus Maximus and Gladiator schools, an improved battle system where players command their own armies, constructible bridges, fortifications, walls, towers and gates, introduction of currency, crime, historically accurate buildings, natural disasters, and siege machines, new interface design, and improved economy and overview dialogues.
