Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure Available on American VC

This week, one WiiWare title and one VC game have been released for the Nintendo Wii. The Nintendo Download carries word of a game based on the Pop-Up Pirate toy and another, which is a classic Pitfall title. Nintendo adds WiiWare and Virtual Console titles to its Wii Shop Channel regularly, every Monday at 9 in the morning, Pacific Standard Time.

Pitfall The Mayan Adventure

In the WiiWare section, we have the video game Party Fun Pirate, which has been based on the Pop-Up Pirate toy game. In the game, players must insert swords into a barrel in which their captain is stuffed. The object of the game is to see which player can put more swords into the barrel. But thrusting a sword into a wrong hole will send the captain flying and end the game for that player. The game is for one to four players and can be purchased from the Wii Shop Channel for 500 Wii Points.

The Virtual Console is updated with Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, a side-scrolling action title. The game follows Pitfall Harry Jr., an adventurer who is out to find his father, Pitfall Harry, taken prisoner by the feared warrior spirit Zakelua: Lord of Evil. Pitfall Harry Jr. has his father’s journal and a sling to help him in his quest through the uncertain Mayan waterfalls, jungles and old abandoned mines. The game features 13 levels of action, is for one player and can be obtained by redeeming 800 Wii Points.
