Plans to Boost Wii Production Postponed: Report

When Nintendo released the Wii, no one had expected that it would sell so much and go past the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Even Nintendo didn’t expect that and all we heard was Wii shortages from the retailers! Nintendo had planned to boost the production of their next-gen console, but according to DigiTimes report, those plans have been delayed too!

New Nintendo Wii Shipments Delayed?

Taiwan-based component makers told DigiTimes, “Due to the tight supply of components such as IC chips and PCBs, Nintendo’s plans to expand production of its Wii games console, originally set for June, have been delayed. With the delay of its plans, any easing of the Wii shortages in the worldwide market is unlikely to be seen in the second half of 2007.”

But Nintendo has something different to say. They revealed to GameSpot that they have no revisions to announce to its most recent shipment forecasts. Whatever it is, Nintendo will have to come up with more shipments of the Nintendo Wii as there is a huge demand for it and let’s hope they can officially launch the console in India.
