Unprecedented Nintendo Wii Supply Promised by Reggie Fils-Aime

We know that Wii has sold more units than the Xbox 360 and the PS3. We also know that there is a short supply of Wii consoles! But all that is about to change, as the President and COO of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime has promised to San Jose Mercury News that there will be a ‘unprecedented’ Wii supply in North America for the holiday season.

Nintendo Wii - Reggie Fils-Aime

Reggie Fils-Aime conversed with Dean Takahashi, Mike Antonucci, and Troy Wolverton from San Jose Mercury News. He told them, “The good news is we’re flowing more and more products into the marketplace and the amount of Wii hardware that will be in North American stores will be unprecedented. Substantially more than the launch, substantially more than has been seen to date. What we showed for Wii fit was just small taste. The game is incredibly deep. I can guarantee you Mr. Miyamoto will surprise and delight us. It will be fantastic, and all of the other capabilities for the Wii Balance Board will make this a must have title when we bring it into the marketplace in 2008.”

Reggie Fils-Aime is of the view that the PS3 and the Xbox 360 price cuts are not affecting them. However, he mentioned that Nintendo does not take its success lightly and is in a long-term battle.

Fils-Aime better be true about the unprecedented supply of Nintendo Wii consoles as gamers all over the world want the next-gen console very badly. Just some time ago, there were reports that the plans to boost the production of the Nintendo Wii were postponed.
