Shifting World Headed to Nintendo 3DS in 2012

Publisher Aksys Games has recently announced that it shall be releasing developer Fishing Cactus’ latest offering titled Shifting World for the Nintendo 3DS next year. This puzzle platformer is based on the Shift series which was created initially by Armor Games, and has apparently garnered over 16 million plays on the web ever since its launch.

Shifting World 1

The Nintendo 3DS version of this title is said to be the first game in this series to be made available for consoles. An all new art direction and a fresh level editor will form a part of this version. Moreover, this game has also been announced to kick in a new level generator. Using this trait, players can craft their own levels by clicking pictures of DataMatrix bar codes with their 3DS cameras.

This new offering by Fishing Cactus is also the first time that any game in the Shift series will be rendered in full 3D. Its puzzle platformer gameplay allows players to shift the world from black to white and from white to black, with the push of a button. This needs to be done so as to overcome the game’s obstacles and get out of rooms.

Shifting World 2

A new layer of puzzles would also be introduced by this title. Players will possess the ability to switch from 3D to 2D and from 2D to 3D anytime during the game. Furthermore, three modes will be available for them to choose from. These comprise an Adventure Mode, a Bonus Mode and a Time Attack Mode.

Shifting World will be outed for the Nintendo 3DS sometime in 2012. An exact release date for the title is yet to be declared by Aksys Games.
