Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time is to release simultaneously for the Wii as well as the Nintendo DS, Square Enix announced.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time enables, for the first time, Nintendo Wii and DS users to play alongside each other. This means that players on both Nintendo platforms can play multiplayer with each other, irrespective of which platform they have, using an innovative new concept in multiplayer gaming.
This Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles title incorporates a gameplay system which enables players to toggle between single and multiplayer mode with relative ease. A whole new level of connectivity can be experienced with the newest arrival to the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series.
The story of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time mainly revolves around a 16-year-old hero who returns from a monster infested forest only to find that a young girl from his village is struck by a mysterious illness, termed “crystal sickness”. Our hero ventures out of the village for the first time, hell-bent on finding a cure, only to encounter an almost insurmountable tower and a mysterious crystal.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time has many distinctive and attractive features such as players can create a personalized hero from a choice of the four familiar races of the series, the Clavats, the Lilties, the Selkies or the Yukes. Also, Wii gamers can transfer their Mii character’s faces to the world of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. In addition, players can even create and customize materials, armor and equipment for their characters, which means no two heroes will be the same.
The basic control technique from the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates has been used in this game, and has been adapted to the Nintendo Wii for just that extra punch! Players can keep the enjoyment levels up even after completing the main adventure, thanks to the new Game+ feature, which brings increased difficulty and better items with every new round. A vast selection of quests provides the gamer hours of fun.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time will be available on January 29, 2009 in Japan and on March 24, 2009 in the US. It is expected to retail at about USD 39.99 (approx. Rs. 1,955) for both Nintendo Wii and DS.
