Rocket League and Portal 2 to be offered for free with Steam hardware pre-orders

One of the hottest little games right now, Rocket League and one of the finest games of all time, Portal 2 will both be offered for free to those who pre-order any Steam hardware. This applies to online as well as offline sales of the upcoming range of PC gaming-focused devices.

Rocket League is already available via Steam right now, and is even being discounted for the next 48 hours to celebrate this announcement. Its makers have furthermore revealed that the game will be released for SteamOS and Mac later this year.

As for the hardware, the free content will be doled out to all those who pre-order the Steam Controller, the Steam Link accessory or a certified Steam Machine. Those who have already placed their pre-orders online will be granted their game copies on September 4, while those who have done that offline will be provided with the download codes when they visit the store for collecting their purchases.

For those unaware, Rocket League is a physics-based game which allows you to play football with advanced vehicles. Watch the trailer in the space down below to better understand its concept. The game was released for the PS4 as well as PC in July this year.

Rocket League has been equipped with single-player as well as multiplayer gameplay. Both these modes can be played either locally or online, and the best part is that the title also supports cross platform play between the PS4 and PC.
