Mad Catz has been chipping together a variety of experiences in the gaming landscape with its peripherals. Seemingly, the company now wishes to not only refine an adventure but also dish out one. Taking a step forward in this direction, the manufacturer has revealed its ThunderHawk Studios.
“The addition of flight simulation games should leverage the market share leadership and global distribution enjoyed by our flight simulation hardware products,” commented Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive. “The formation of ThunderHawk Studios is an important milestone as we pursue our longer term goal of expanding our participation in developing, publishing and distributing games.”
Revelations state that the newly formed internal game development studio will be located in San Diego, California. This unit of the company has been tasked with creating innovative experiences via a series of MMO flight simulation titles.
Mad Catz has not divulged more details about ThunderHawk Studios or the current projects which are being developed at the organization. Nonetheless, with its MMO games lined up for 2012, we could hear a thing or two about them in the second half of this year.
