Payday: The Heist Delayed, To Release Later This Month

Payday: The Heist which was supposed to have released today, has met with a delay and the title will now be launched later this month. A post on the PlayStation blog has disclosed that Sony and Overkill software require a ‘little more time’ to assemble the ‘ideal squad’ and ‘attack strategy’ for the first person shooter.

Payday: The Heist

As a part of the inaugural PSN Play program, the title will be awarded for free to those who have purchased all the four games which fall under the offer. They include, Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition, The Baconing, BloodRayne: Betrayal and Renegade Ops. All these games were released periodically via Sony’s weekly PS Store updates and gamers who pre-ordered it were also rewarded with additional DLCs for the games.

“Your continued loyalty and patience with the game’s further development is very much appreciated, we truly believe your first heist will be worth the wait. SOE recognizes the demand for quality from PlayStation players and looks to meet this head on with the upcoming launch of Payday: The Heist,” stated Chris Sturr, Executive Director of Business Development, Sony Online Entertainment, on the blog.

For those unaware of the title, Payday: The Heist is a co-op first person shooter that will be released for the PS3 and PC via PSN and Steam respectively. It will require gamers to plan a number of heists and execute them with minute details, by taking the help of weapons, teammates and disguises.

Owing to the delay, Payday: The Heist which was supposed to release today, will now be outed later this month. It can be pre-ordered currently through PSN at a price of 19.99 USD (approx Rs. 981).
