For all you adventure seekers out there, here are some of the best fantasy PC games on the market. Be prepared to travel to worlds unknown filled with mystery, mystical beings and legendary creatures. What makes titles in this category so addictive and fun to play are the great story-lines that take place in wonderful worlds, some beautiful and others torn apart with destruction.

Skyrim

Skyrim is probably the finest game created by Bethesda in The Elder Scrolls series. The release follows the same open world tradition seen in its predecessor and it takes place around 200 years after the events of Oblivion. The story is set in the land of Skyrim where the High King has been murdered and dragons have returned to the empire of Tamriel with a goal to destroy the world.

You assume the role of the prophesized Dragonborn who’s the only person capable of slaying the evil dragon, Alduin. The title focuses a lot on character development. Bethesda has also released various add-ons and three expansion packs, namely Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn, which are available separately or through the Legendary Edition bundle.

2. Diablo 3:

Diablo 3

Diablo 3 is an action RPG and the third installment in the series. The title is a lot like other popular releases from Blizzard Entertainment and it’s the sequel to Diablo 2. The objective here is to defeat the Lord of Terror, Diablo. At the start, you select one of five characters, namely Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Wizard, Monk and Demon Hunter, and step onto randomized battlefields to face demons as well as collect loot.

Each time you play a level, the loot changes. The storyline is linear and the game offers a hardcore mode where characters cannot be resurrected and are unplayable after death. One of the biggest downsides here is that you’ll have to stay connected to the internet even when you take on the single player campaign due to the company’s DRM policy.
