Colin McRae: Dirt 2 is the first game in the series after legendary rally driver, Colin McRae’s death. The game was announced late last year and is a sequel to the 2007 game Colin McRae: Dirt. Now we have word that Codemasters has announced the shipping and street dates for Colin McRae: Dirt 2.
The game utilizes the famous EGO Engine and is all set to introduce new race types, a totally different class of super-charged cars, big event atmosphere and striking locations. Races are set in highly demanding real-world environments ranging from the huge stadiums of LA and London to the Malaysian rainforest tracks. Various off-road race types are available such as Landrush, Raid, Rally, Rallycross and Trailblazer.
Colin McRae: Dirt 2 is set to be published for the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Nintendo DS and Wii systems. A Games for Windows Live edition of the game is being prepped and will be released later will DirectX 11 support. Colin McRae: Dirt 2 ships to North America on September 8, 2009 and will release across the EPAC territories on September 10, 2009. The UK street date has been set for September 11, 2009. Pricing hasn’t been mentioned.
