Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End for Consoles And Handhelds Announced by Disney

Disney Interactive Studios has announced a new game, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. It is based on the events and locations of the upcoming film by the same name as well as last year’s blockbuster film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Disney has stated the game will release for all the major consoles and handhelds.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Craig Relyea, VP of marketing, Disney Interactive Studios comments, “Fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise will experience adventures inspired by the second and third films while going far beyond the events of those films. With the action, excitement, unforgettable characters and expansive locations from the blockbuster films, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End will be the ultimate ‘Pirates’ video game experience for fans. Our games go beyond the films to introduce legendary pirates, new locations and exceptional endings that will gratify the pirate in each of us.”

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End will be released on May 22, 2007, that’s the same time the movie will hit the theaters. The game will come to the PS2, PS3, PSP, Nintendo DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms. The Nintendo DS version of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is being developed by Amaze Entertainment while the other versions are being developed by Eurocom Entertainment Software.

Like if it has become a norm, like other game developers, Disney too has stressed, “The Wii version takes advantage of the Wii Remote for swinging and thrusting motions that are similar to fighting with a sword.” However, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End will feature gameplay that takes advantage of each platform.
