Nintendo Pulls Mario Party 8 from UK

Nintendo has pulled Mario Party 8 from stores in the United Kingdom after they found that a wrong version of the game, which contained the word ‘spastic’ in its script, had been shipped. Kamek is heard saying in the game, “Magikoopa magic! Turn the train spastic! Make this ticket tragic!”

Mario Party 8 Recalled

Nintendo later clarified the situation on their website. This is what they had to say:

“Mario Party 8 was launched in the UK today. Unfortunately we have discovered that a small number of games contain the wrong version of the disk due to an assembly error. We have therefore decided to recall all copies of the game from UK retailers so that this mistake can be corrected. We very much regret any inconvenience caused.”

The pulling out of Mario Party 8 from UK stores just comes days after Ubisoft had withdrawn the MindQuiz brain training game from the shelves in the United Kingdom.
