In November last year Microsoft and Square Enix partnered to offer Xbox Live users a free baby chocobo pet to keep their Xbox Live Avatars company. All users had to do was register their Gamertags during the social media promotion. When a certain number of tweets relating to Final Fantasy XIII had been met, all participating users would be allowed to download a unique pet for their Xbox 360 Avatars.
Now Joystiq is reporting that codes for the little Final Fantasy XIII chocobo have been sent to registered users via e-mail. Those who did not participate cannot get the baby chocobo for free now, but we speculate that it could be made available for a price on the Avatar Marketplace sooner or later. The fluffy little chocobo is similar to the one seen in Final Fantasy XIII in Sazh Katzroy’s afro, and looks quite cool.
Joystiq reports that their baby chocobo only flutters around and is not inclined to nest in the hairdos of their Avatars. But who knows, maybe Microsoft will make it possible?
