A new Sony title was announced recently in the form of When Vikings Attack, which will be available to purchase later this year via PSN. Created by Clever Beans, this game will support cross-play between the PS3 and the PS Vita, with gamers having to buy just one of the two versions to play on both the systems.
Touted as an all-action fighting adventure, the title revolves around a battalion of Viking invaders who have entered today’s world, 1200 years after their time. They are causing havoc in the towns, and players are required to make use of quick-fire gameplay in order to control them. The game will comprise both adventure and versus modes which can be played with up to four players.
“In this all-action fighting adventure, a battalion of Viking invaders, 1200 years late to the party, are causing havoc in your town. Imagine getting together a posse of local citizens: a construction worker, a butcher, a policeman, a pastor, and a schoolboy, then ripping up a phone booth or picking up a car,and hurling it at the advancing Viking hordes. That’s the sort of crazy action you can expect in this totally new and original PSN title for PS3 and PS Vita,” wrote Neil McPhillips, Associate Producer, XDev, on the official PlayStation blog.
This being a cross-play title, would allow four players to hook up in any combination of systems they want. Saved data will be transferable on both devices, while gamers who will purchase it for either consoles, will be able to acquire a version for the other console at no extra cost.
When Vikings Attack will be released for the PS3 and PS Vita through PSN later this year.
