Nyko’s New Raven Controller for PS3 Out Now on Retail

Nyko, the game peripherals manufacturer, revealed a Charge Station Quad for Sony’s motion-sensing accessory Move earlier last month. Expanding the arsenal of products that it offers, the company has now unveiled the new premium PlayStation 3 controller dubbed Raven which is now reported to be obtainable from selected stores.

“We wanted the Raven to be the most comfortable controller possible, so we turned directly to PlayStation owners for their feedback,” stated Nyko’s director of marketing, Chris Arbogast. “The innovations present in the Raven’s design are the result of combining their feedback with our 11 years of experience building quality peripherals for gamers worldwide.”

Offered in two configurations, Standard and Alternate, the Raven provides players an ergonomic alternative for Sony’s layout and is said to be a good option for gamers who are looking for a more comfortable controller. One of the introductory features for both the controllers is that players can now alter the bindings of the bumper (L1/R1) and trigger (L2/R2) buttons. This enables them to personalize their gameplay experience and benefit from the Raven’s improved ergonomic triggers.

The Standard configuration is spread out with a symmetrical analog stick placement like the DualShock 3, whereas the Alternate configuration switches the position of directional pad and the left analog stick.

Surfacing a Soft Feel Surface for superior grip, full vibration support and a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery lasting up to 25 hours, the Raven is available for 34.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,600).
