Diablo III Starter Edition to Act as a Demo Post Launch

The day has finally come when the vastly anticipated RPG will be seen falling into the hands of eager gamers from all over the world, and with the announcement of the Diablo III Starter Edition, things just got a bit more exciting. That’s because those players who’re still apprehensive about whether or not to buy the title can make use of this version to demo the game’s features before purchasing it.

The Starter Edition however, won’t be made available to all as of now. Players will be required to use Guest Pass keys to activate it. And these keys are comprised within actual retail copies of the title. These codes will need to be acquired from all those who have bought the title. For those who’re not able to get these keys, this demo will be made available sometime in the future.

Only Act I, up to the Skeleton King will be playable in the Diablo III Starter Edition, with the level cap of players limited at 13. And moreover, matchmaking for these players will only be available with other Starter Edition owners. Needless to mention, the Auction House feature will be unavailable to access for real money transactions. Gamers must note that having a Battle.net account is mandatory to get into this demo.

Upon logging into their accounts, they must navigate to the Account Management page and enter the Download Game Clients section. From here, they will be able to download the Starter Edition for their desired platform. Furthermore, after playing it, if they wish to upgrade to the full version, they will also be able to do so through this edition.

The Diablo III Starter Edition will be playable from today onwards, following the game’s worldwide launch for PC and Mac. Its new copies will be available to purchase at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,235).
