Uncharted 4 Could Be Headed To PC Soon

Uncharted 4 PC

It’s a trend everyone can get behind. Following a string of PlayStation-exclusive games getting PC ports, Uncharted 4 seems to be the latest addition to that list. Although this news isn’t official yet, it does come from an official Sony document that’s still available online. It puts the latest Nathan Drake game under a section called ‘More PC releases planned.’

Uncharted 4 is listed there alongside Days Gone, which only just broke free of its PS4 exclusivity to jump to PC. This change in Sony’s strategy started last year when Death Stranding was launched for PC after around eight months of its PS4 release. That was followed up by Horizon: Zero Dawn’s PC launch, which came in August last year.

The Sony document in focus here mentions that the decision to go off-console has turned immense profits for the company, giving it more than 250 percent return on investment. The main strategy behind this move has seemingly been to create more fans of Sony’s IPs, and to target new geographies like India, China, and Russia.

This document mentions that the PS5 has been successful so far, despite all the shortages. In fact, the console’s standard edition is projected to break even by the end of June 2021. The shortage of superconductors has indeed found mention in this file as the main culprit behind the incredibly short supply of the console. Despite this though, the engagement on the PS5 is still high, which could be attributed to the stay-at-home orders during the pandemic.

If Uncharted 4 does manage to hit Windows, PC gamers will be treated to one of the best Sony IPs of all time. However, the fact that most will not have experienced the first three games from the series will be a bummer.
