Publisher Codemasters has released a new multiplayer demo of their strategy game, Maelstrom. The PC demo can be downloaded from the official site of the game. It will have two new multiplayer maps that are also playable in single-player mode.
The details of the Maelstrom maps are:
- Top of the Hill (2 players): Gamers command either the ingenious Remnants or the courageous Hai-Genti alien force in a race to destroy the opposition enemy base. The first to the peak controls the water pump at the top of the hill so strategic terraforming and dam building will be crucial for the Remnants to save their base from possible flooding by the aquatic aliens.
Lair of the Devil (4 players): The map lets gamers to again fight as either the human guerrilla fighting Remnants or the collective hive-mind of the Hai-Genti aliens. This map is a desolate and volcanic vision of the future, one of the 14 multiplayer maps available in the full game.
