Sensible World of Soccer for the PC Confirmed by Codemasters

Codemasters has confirmed the Sensible World of Soccer game for the PC. They were already going to release the Xbox 360 version on the Xbox Live Arcade sometime later this year. The bad news is, the PC version will only run on Windows Vista.

Sensible World of Soccer

Nick Pili, Director of Casual Games, Codemasters says, “To produce the authentic SWOS experience we’ll be using the original source code used in SWOS 96/97. The core gameplay will be untouched, and therefore identical to that within the SWOS 96/97 game. In this version, the gamer will be able to play two main modes of SWOS. Mode 1 will be the original Amiga game with enhanced graphics and enhanced game features. Mode 2 will be the actual original Amiga game from the mid 90s. Again we haven’t modified the game code in any way.”

Sensible World of Soccer was first released in the early 1990s and was a huge hit. The game was developed by Amiga. Sensible World of Soccer for the PC will release in the summer of 2007. However, there is a chance that Codemasters could release the game for other operating systems after the Vista release.
