Nintendo has decided to release four games this week on the European Virtual Console. This week, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Ecco: The Tides of Time, Golden Axe II and Dragon Sprit will be available to the European Wii gamers.
Here are the details of the Wii VC games:
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (800 Wii Points) was first released in 1992 on the Sega Mega Drive. The game saw the debut of Tails, Sonic’s trusty sidekick. Sonic is on an adventure to trace all the missing Chaos Emeralds before Dr.Eggman (AKA Dr.Robotnik) and prevent his evil plan to create a Death Egg warship.
The next game is Ecco: The Tides of Time (800 Wii Points). The game was originally released on the Mega Drive in 1994. Gamers assume the role of Ecco once again and navigate the depths of his underwater world to solve puzzles and take on the alien threat.
The third game is also a Mega Drive game, which was released in1991. Golden Axe II (800 Wii Points) sees old friends Ax-Battler, Tyris-Flare and Gilius Thunderhead revolt and use their exceptional powers to recover the mighty Golden Axe.
Next in the line is the only Turbografx game this week. Dragon Sprit (600 Wii Points) is a shooter game that was first released in 1989. Gamers take the role of crafty, young soldier Amul as they battle to save princess Alicia and destroy the evil serpent demon Zawell who has abducted her. They must trace and obtain additional abilities to help them reach their goal with the help of special powers that turn them into a powerful blue dragon.
These games have already been released on the American Virtual Console. Sonic, Ecco, Golden Axe and Dragon Spirit Hitting will now join the list of 105 classic titles already available for Virtual Console in Europe.
