Industry heavyweights like Electronic Arts, Gas Powered Games and 2K have forayed big time into the casual gaming space. One name that was missing from the list was Ubisoft. Now Ubisoft has sent word about a new Play Zone label. They would be releasing new Wii exclusive party-games range under the brand.

The first game is Sports Party. The game comprises of nine sports mini-games set on a tropical paradise Island. These games can be played not only head-to-head but also cooperatively. Gamers can use intuitive gestures with the Wii Remote. The game has three different difficulty levels. Sports Party features games like basketball, croquet, lawn darts, badminton, volley-ball, horse shoes and mini-golf.

John Parkes is the EMEA Marketing Director at Ubisoft. He comments, “With our new PLAY ZONE party titles, the Wii gamers who like to spend time with friends and family will have fun with the Wii through innovative and involving mini-games. The PLAY ZONE label will offer them with the best games to come together and compete together in a fun and friendly atmosphere”

Sports Party for the Nintendo Wii is expected to be out next month. It will be released on July 11, 2008.
