Nintendo Downloadable Games go VectorRacing This Week

VectorRacing is a brand new 3DS exclusive which looks to combine high-speed racing with the visuals of retro titles, and is live now on the eShop as part of this week’s Nintendo downloadable games. Only two other titles hit the scene other than this one. The much loved yesteryear classic Metal Slug X arrives for the Wii Virtual Console, while the DS gets a new game named Abyss.

VectorRacing allows players to assume control of one of the six distinct vehicles that are available within it. Moreover, a total of twelve courses with varying difficulties also make their way into the game. Grand Prix, Single Race, Time Trial and Vs Battle are the four modes that can be jumped into, with the latter one offering two-player multiplayer support as well. There’s even a Records mode which lets gamers see where their scores stand against those of others from around the world.

Metal Slug X as many know, is an enhanced version of Metal Slug 2 which came out in 1998. Notable changes from the original game include new weapons like the Iron Lizard and the Drop Shot. Moreover, new enemies as well as the ability to adjust difficulty also form part of the improved version. Abyss is this week’s only DSiWare title. It takes place in the year 3024, when natural resources have become scarce and the survival of humans is in danger. Gamers play as a robot named Nep2no who must venture into the extreme depths of the earth in order to look for new energy sources.

VectorRacing, which is the highlight of this week’s Nintendo downloadable games, now sells on the eShop at 6.99 USD (approx. Rs. 385). Metal Slug X on the other hand, goes for 900 Points on the Wii Shop Channel, whereas Abyss can be purchased through the DSi Shop at 200 Points.
