DSiWare offers Need for Speed: Nitro-X, 21: Blackjack and more this week

In our estimation, the ongoing week could easily prove to be one of the best in 2010 for the gamers as they expect to get their itchy hands on the latest installments of all-time favorite series titles like Need for Speed and Assassin’s Creed as Hot Pursuit and Brotherhood are set to hit stores this week. But, Nintendo DSi owners have as much reason to cheer up as three fun-filled engaging games, Need for Speed: Nitro-X, Go Fetch! and 21: Blackjack are being delivered this week on DSiWare.

Go Fetch!

Need for Speed: Nitro-X is a speed-racing title derived from the big-hitting game for Wii and Nintendo DS where gamers can engage in an enthralling racing experience steering the world’s most amazing cars and an arcade-styled pursuit fun. The game allows players to access custom options like Camera Tag Editor, splash environments with personalized tags and capturing images with the built-in camera. With its touch controls, Need for Speed: Nitro-X is also said to invoke a sense of real racing.

Garaging 18 supercars such as Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Gallardo and Pagani Zonda R, the racing title also offers six never-before-driven police cars like the Hummer H2 SUT. Additionally, players can mute the sirens of their cop cars in the all new Super Pursuit Mode. Although 16 detailed tracks are reported to be available for exploration within the game, factor in tracks that can be reversed increases the number upto 30 spectacular speedways. A maximum of three players can engage simultaneously across these tracks in the multi-player mode.

The second one on the list is Go Fetch!, which as the name suggests, enables players to throw balls and guide their puppies with the stylus to fetch them. Spanning across various neighborhoods such as Beach, Park, Riverside, Plaza, School, Parking Lot and Backyard, the puppy should avoid numerous obstructions and gather items to finish different stages. A variety of breeds are on hand to opt from, each having its own distinct characteristics. While cats cause distraction for puppies when they venture too near to them, an item that has been dropped by the dog will drain player’s time.

Transporting all the casino-table excitement to the portable platform is 21: Blackjack, the last offering on this week’s games list released on DSiWare. No matter the player’s skill level, the title presents plenty of gameplay options to level up. The number of decks in a round, payouts and splitting options can be customized while gamers can also choose if the dealer hits on a soft 17 or not. Delivering a range of player stats for viewing, 21: Blackjack offers a lot of different advanced options to configure.
