100 Gigabyte Hard Drive Add-on for Xbox 360 to come out soon

Xbox 360 100GB Harddrive On Thursday, Microsoft announced that it plans to develop a 100-Gigabyte hard drive add-on for the Xbox 360. This bit of news was confirmed at the Microsoft X06 conference that took place in Korea. A 256MB memory card was also on display at the conference. This memory card is for those who prefer save their games onto a storage medium.

The current premium version of the Xbox 360 comes with a 20 Giga byte hard drive. Considering that PlayStation3 is scheduled to be launched in November this, we may just see stiff competition since it is packed with a 60GB hard drive.

The 100GB hard drive for the Xbox 360 transforms the console into a full-blown media center. Users will now be able to have more space to store Xbox Live downloads, and maybe even music and video purchases in the future.

The 100GB hard drive is expected to hit the stores in Korea by March 2007. Details regarding when it would be available exactly and at what price have not yet been revealed.

Microsoft also announced other peripherals that will come out shortly for the Xbox 360, which include HD DVD drive, Wireless Racing Wheel, Wireless Headset, and the recently released Live Vision Camera.
