Nintendo unveils Mini Collector’s Edition NES that plugs into your TV

Nintendo is banking on that little thing called nostalgia to sell its Nintendo Entertainment System: Mini Collector’s Edition NES which can be plugged right into your TV. It is priced at $59.99 and will be launched on November 11, right in time for the holiday shopping season.

As its name suggests, the NES Classic Edition is a smaller version of the system every gamer may fondly remember from their childhood days. It comes with an HDMI cable enabling users to connect it directly to their TV, a Classic Controller as well as an AC adapter.

What about games? Well, Nintendo will be selling it with no less than 30 pre-loaded titles covering all the classics from Super Mario Bros. to Donkey Kong to Pac-Man to The Legend of Zelda and more. Scroll down to the bottom of this post for the full list of in-built games.

The NES Classic Edition will be sold with one controller. You can also indulge in Virtual Console NES games on a Wii U or Wii system by connecting it to a Wii Remote controller. In case you want your friend to join in on the fun, Nintendo will be selling controllers separately at $9.99 each.

Balloon Fight, Bubble Bobble, Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Dr. Mario, Excitebike, Final Fantasy, Galaga, Ghosts’N Goblins, Gradius, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus and Kirby’s Adventure will be bundled in.

Also part of the list are Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Metroid, Ninja Gaiden, Pac-Man, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, StarTropics, Super C, Super Mario Bros. (2 and 3 too), Tecmo Bowl, The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
