With the level of connectivity that we enjoy today, movies, games and other digital media is available seamlessly at our fingertips for download. And according to Joystiq, someone at Sony seems to have goofed up. The movie Armored, which is apparently still running in theatres, was released over the PlayStation Network as a free download for both the PS3 and PSP.
The Nimrod Antal movie stars Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, and Laurence Fishburne. And the website reported that while it was up there, it was so easy to download the movie that basically anyone could download it for free. It has been taken off since. But all you had to was get into the PlayStation Video Store and search for ‘Armored’. And presto! Download the movie for absolutely no price.
The movie was reportedly on the PSN for about five short hours before Sony realized the blunder and pulled it down. But by then it had already been downloaded by more than a few.
