Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, who’s the CEO of Koch Media, the publisher’s parent company, has remarked that the announcement of these dates for Metro: Last Light is an ”˜ideal way to strike the balance’ between delivering the best through the game and not keeping fans waiting longer. He has assured fans that the company will make the most of this delay by not leaving the added time unexploited. The publisher has even articulated that it will be working closely with the title’s developer 4A Games to create an even better experience. “It will receive all the attention it deserves,” said Kundratitz.

Through a recent press release, Deep Silver’s international commercial director, Menno van der Bil has thanked all the fans of the much revered series for the patience they have shown towards the game. Moreover, he has also promised them more content coming through the franchise, thus hinting towards its next-gen plans probably.

This upcoming entry is set in the year 2034, when a nuclear war has resulted in the world being reduced to a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It takes place inside the large tunnels of Moscow city’s Metro, which are now housing survivors, but at the same time, are also home to mutant creatures that are a result of the toxic atmosphere. And a third resistance is also there in the form of rouge factions fighting to grab control of whatever survival material remains. This being its single-player experience, there isn’t any sort of multiplayer component that will be making its way into it.
