As fans gear up for the Call of Duty XP tournament, a leaked image of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition which is expected to be unveiled at the event, is currently making rounds in the gaming world. The image is apparently of the European version of the Hardened edition and shows a Call of Duty Elite membership card alongside other bonus contents.
Some anonymous source had supposedly provided Wired with the leaked image. The Premium membership to Call of Duty Elite provides gamers with access to their lifetime statistics, various social networking options as well as free downloadable content. Although the photo is of the European version of the Hardened Edition, the U.S. version can or cannot be similar to this.
Other contents of this case include a ‘Special Founder Status’ on Elite that will provide gamers with an exclusive in-game emblem, player card, and camouflage, and an XP boost for their Elite clan. An additional limited-edition ‘field journal’ will feature more than 100 pages of ‘authentic military sketches, diagrams and written entries.’
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 game disc with ‘unique’ disc art will be housed in a SteelBook case. Moreover, PS3 users would be rewarded with an ‘Animated Timeline Theme’ while Xbox 360 gamers will get a ‘Special Ops Juggernaut Xbox Live Outfit.’
The credibility of the image which apparently is a grab of the of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition is still in question, but the mystery is expected to be deciphered soon as the Call of Duty XP event kicks off today.
