It’s your last chance to grab Marvel vs. Capcom games through PSN and Xbox Live

If you haven’t bought Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 yet and are interested in doing so, you have only a few days left until they disappear from PSN and Xbox Live. Capcom hasn’t revealed a reason for having taken this decision, but it has indeed announced a half-off sale on the DLC packs for these games.

No definite date has been mentioned as to when these games will be disappearing from the download channels, but we do have dates for when the DLCs will lose their limited-time discounts. Downloadable content for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be taken off European PSN on December 19 and North American PSN on December 17, whereas it will vanish globally from Xbox Live on December 26.

For now, the fifty percent discount is available only for PSN account holders, but it will soon be made available for Xbox Live users as well. Although nothing on the reason of the removal of these games has been said by Capcom, fingers can definitely be pointed towards some kind of an expiry of the Marvel license which it had managed to acquire for these two games and their additional content.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was released for consoles in 2009 as a port of the original arcade game launched in 2000. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on the other hand, had come out in 2011 for home consoles, and in the following year, it had also made its way to the PS Vita handheld.
