Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Apparently In The Works At Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed Black Flag

A remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is supposedly being worked on by Ubisoft Singapore, the same studio that’s behind the upcoming Skull and Bones. According to a new report, this remake of the 2013 pirate adventure is “still in its earliest stages.”

Kotaku has cited two sources familiar with the publisher’s plans while revealing this new tidbit that has gotten fans of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag excited. However, knowing that Ubisoft Singapore is involved in the development of this project means there’s a lot of waiting to do.

As we said, the studio is heavily invested in the making of Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones, another pirate game that has faced multiple delays and no longer has a definite release date.

According to an internal email accessed by Kotaku, the management of the Singapore outfit is forcing all developers to work from the office rather than remotely. They are also being provided onsite breakfast and dinner, which is being seen as an attempt to make them work more hours.

It’s safe to say that work on the apparent Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake will catch full steam only after the release of the said game. It’s worth noting that Skull and Bones was in fact conceived as an expansion for Black Flag.

Back in 2013, this sixth major entry to the Assassin’s Creed series took players into the West Indies during the Golden Age of Piracy in the eighteenth century.

Apart from the trademark stealth and traversal elements from the series, this game introduced naval exploration and naval combat into the mix, which was received with much fanfare. The game is available to play on a number of different platforms right now.

The sudden appearance of an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake has come as a pleasant surprise and we look forward to seeing how Ubisoft revives this beloved classic.
