Watch Dogs 2 to go free for limited time this weekend

If you haven’t yet had a chance to play Watch Dogs 2, this weekend’s Ubisoft Forward conference is indeed something you should look forward to. For the duration of the showcase, you’ll be able to snag a copy of the game for free on PC. The event is important as Ubisoft plans on disclosing major information about its upcoming games, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods and Monsters, and its newly-launched battle royale game, Hyper Scape.

The Ubisoft Forward online event will take place on July 12, at 12:30 am in India. This is when the promotion will get activated. All you need to do in order to grab your free copy of Watch Dogs 2 during this period is log into your Uplay account and search for the game. The buy option will let you add the game to your account without any payment. The promotion will end once Ubisoft Forward ends, so you’d better be quick.

Watch Dogs 2 was released as a sequel to the original game in 2016 for the PS4, the Xbox One and PC. It moved the series’ setting from Chicago to San Francisco Bay and revolved around the protagonist, Marcus Holloway, a hacker who works with the hacking group DedSec. The game has sold more than 10 million copies to date. The third installment in the series, set in London, has already been announced.

Ubisoft Forward promises to be quite a ride, what with all the games supposed to be showcased at the event. Rumors are also rife the company will give us our first glimpse at Far Cry 6, which is also said to be in development. Word on the street is that Breaking Bad actor, Giancarlo Esposito is supposed to star in it.
